Your health. Our focus.
Helping you move better, recover faster, and live pain-free.

We hope these FAQs will answer your questions.

Does MCD Physiotherapy submit to medical aid on your behalf?
Yes, on your request, if you have savings or physiotherapy benefits available, we will submit the claim on your behalf and notify you if there is a problem with payment. It is your responsibility to enquire with the medical aid if they will cover Physiotherapy before your session.

Do you offer sports massages?
As physiotherapists, we treat specific structural and physical conditions. Many of our patients have conditions that require on-going treatment and we see them regularly, but it's not a full-body sports massage. We do deep tissue massage as part of our treatment to target specific areas of pain.

Do you provide dry needling?
Yes, in combination with our treatment with patient consent. All our physiotherapists are trained and skilled in dry needling.

Do you offer home visits?
Yes, for post-operative patients and those that are too frail or in pain to get to the practice. For back and neck treatment, we request that the patient visit the practice, as we make use of treatment beds to treat adequately.

Do you work over weekends and after hours?
Yes, we will do our best to accommodate our patients after hours and we can see emergency cases on weekends.

Do you have available parking for patients?
Yes, we have allocated visitors parking at our Sea Point Practice only. Please refer to our contacts page for more details.
Unfortunately we don't have private parking at our Camps Bay practice, please make use of the Woolworths parking opposite the practice or alternatively there is street parking available. For this reason please make sure to arrive 10minutes before your appointment.

Do you need a doctors referral?
No, in South Africa we are first-line practitioners, therefore you don't need to visit a doctor first unless you are instructed to do so by your medical aid, to cover your session. If you have been referred by a doctor, please bring along your referral letter.

Do I need to have x-rays before I come for my physio appointment?
No, it's not necessary. We will assess you and if we feel you may need x-rays, we will refer you directly. If you have x-rays, please bring them along to your appointment.
